Celebrating World Tattoo Day – The Telegraph T2 Article

Tattoo travelled a long road from ancient age. In different time it represented different fascinating aspect of life for an individual which is always the most unique way of self representation. In modern time a tattoo is something to define someone. A personal statement etched on the body of an individual to commemorate his/her feeling towards life. So few things are very important while choosing a tattoo-

· Most importantly a specific subject/idea which can be memorial or subject to moral boosting. Remember tattoo has no point of return. So one has to be very sure while choosing the subject of the tattoo.

· The success of a tattoo very much depends on the position of the body where it is going to be grafted. Yet one must be very careful about the social acceptance of the tattoo position specially at workplace.

· While choosing the studio you must go by personal recommendation or the organic reviews on social media but end of everything you must visit the chosen studio with some time in your hand to check all other aspects like – Ambience, cleanliness, #hygiene, the services offered, good deal and most importantly the quality artists.

We provide various services like permanent tattoo, body piercing, dreadlocks and hair wrapping. For us every client is premium. So we always try to serve them the best of us. For tattoo we always want our client to reach us with ample of time because the selection part is very important. We just don’t make anything on the skin. Our artists always try to look beyond the present time and suggest the best size, design and colour according to the client’s body surface. We all know #tattoo bloats with time and ageing of the skin. So we always suggest the client to give best possible size. We keep optimum #hygiene with every steps. Cleaned and sealed grips, clip chord wraps, gloves, up-to-dated sterilized needle and everything else. Every day we go through rigorous cleanup of our studio floor before we start. Unfortunately there is a misconception about our tattoo remuneration around. As we work within a no compromise hygienic environment we charge the first square in as the initial setup cost for rs. 1500/- . from 2nd sq. inch the price drops by 50% and less and for bigger tattoos the cost is much lesser than the square inch count.

For body #piercing also we keep optimum level of hygiene. We use everything sterilsed starting from jewellery, clamps and receiving tube and single use needles. We are very particular of after procedure service. We keep a track of healing for every procedure we do in our studio.

For Dreadlock and #hair #wrapping we probably have the most experienced and passionate artist of kolkata in our studio. She is the best when it comes to handle any critical situation on #dreadlocks.

Above of everything we always work with passion. Probably we are the only studio in India who refused to work if there is no suitable body anatomy. We always value our client’s skin and body.

The backbone of our studio, Niloy Das is always a phenomenon. A humane, a visionary, a doer, a dreamer, an exceptional wit, a top notch drummer, a xaverian, a designer, a restless artist & art collector and he makes tattoo also. He is the first tattoo artist from India and 6th in Asia who got featured by CHEYENNE HAWK (Germany), USA/CANADA based tattoo magazine called URBAN INK, UK based tattoo magazine named Total Tattoo Magazine and Tätowier Magazin a German magazine. An internationally experienced tattoo artist who has worked at many places like Germany, Austria, London, Thailand and many more. His passion reflects in every inch of the studio and branches. He even spreads his passion among his co-artists also which created a great team. He might be the only one who treats his studio as a lounge. Yes we build relations with clients. We arrange live gigs almost every month. Yes, #Niloy and #Lizardsskintattoos both are phenomenal !!!!

Hare Krishna Mantra – by Prithwiraj

Hare Krishna Matra by Prithwiraj ar Lizards Skin Tattoos

The human mind is always searching some power booster for the mind from where they get to rejuvenate the mind. All around the world in every cast, creed and religion people seek something to boost up the inner power. It comes in many forms like worshipping, doing some particular exercise, come physical activities or chanting. As to concentrate on any subject repeated recitation of any subject accumulates the mind power to fight against the obstacles. In Hindu belief, the Hare Krishna maha-mantra is one very popularly believed chanting which can be the great mind booster. Our client as a strong believer wanted to inscribe this maha-mantra on his arm.

A permanent representation of the maha-mantra chant in the form of tattoo is actually a very unique thought to express the faith and trust on the mantra. A deep expression of the love towards the supreme power is reflected in the artwork. This collaged artwork with the maha-mantra and significantly symbolic peacock feather from Lord Krishna’s turban created by our artist Prithwiraj with his own style.

Owl Tattoo – by Rocky Hela

Owl Tattoo - by Rocky Hela | Lizard's Skin Tattoos

Somewhere somehow inside us, an artist resides. We may not create something new or unique. But many times we are capable of connecting our situation with a relatively symbolism form of art. It can be any subject but it relates our situation and emotion. Representation of our true emotions inscribing on our body through a form of art is a very beautiful thing by nature.

The client came with a heavy heart after losing someone very close with a desire of something memorial yet symbolism. Our artist Rocky comes up with this idea of Owl and skull tattoo at Nepal Tattoo Convention 2018. Owl represents wisdom and knowledge as well as owl believed to be the ‘angel of death’ and believed to guide or carry recently-departed souls to the underworld. Also, skull tattoo designs could symbolize that the person has accepted their own mortality. Another symbol of these tattoos is that they are a constant reminder that everyone will do one die and should always live each day to the fullest. The combined idea created a complete upper sleeve tattoo which was the most desired thing for the client that time.

Poison Ivy Tattoo by Niloy at Frankfurt Convention

Poison Ivy Tattoo By Niloy at Frankfurt Tattoo Convention

A tattoo is something which doesn’t have any point of return. It is forever. We always suggest that one must think over several times before getting a tattoo on them. The subject along with the righteously chosen body part is an equally important factor while getting a tattoo. While choosing a subject for a tattoo sometimes someone’s overthinking may ruin the subject.

Choosing over a subject Stefen had the plan of getting just the poison ivy leaves on his sleeve, the consultation with the artist made him think over it and this was planned. A right consultation with a good artist can always change your total vision over the subject and finally, the entire artwork plan can come up with a very attractive, unique and equally visually beautiful and appealing subject.

The artist embedded the fictional comic book character  ‘poison Ivy’ along with the leaves and flower. Which has given a completeness to the sleeve work on the client. The colors are all healed added the background during the last session. The first session was done at Frankfurt tattoo convention 2016. Please share if you like it.

Cherry Blossom Flower Tattoo by Niloy

Cherry Blossom Flower Tattoo by Niloy Das

As a common human being we all love nature. Our big world is full of innumerable number of beautiful things loaded around us. The nature is full of such wonderful things watching only which we feel so full and content.  But there are few people among us who really feel so closed and feel attached with the nature they really stand out of the mass.

One of them is our client Antje. He loves cherry blossoms and wanted the fore arm to be covered with such flowers. A cherry blossom is the flower tree currently widely distributed, especially in the temperate zone of the Northern Hemisphere including Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China, West Siberia, Iran, Pakistan, India, Canada, and the United States.

Our artist Niloy Das created this beautiful black and grey cherry blossom flower motif which suits the body part beautifully. The first session was during the 3rd day at Frankfurt Tattoo Convention 2016 and was completed after a month. Mostly healed and a lot of freehand work with Squidster pens, the best tattoo markers.

Raijin – The Japanese God Tattoo by Niloy Das

Raijin - Japanese God Tattoo by Niloy Das

In our daily life all around us, we have so many things to get motivated about. A symbol of motivation never bounded within any boundary or any particular belief. A motivational subject has no boundary of the country, places religion or any other parameters. We read about many legendary characters and read about their miracles. No matter whether miracles happen or not we get motivated by trusting those acts. We get ourselves powerful from mind to overcome our own real obstacles.

Our client gets motivated by this Japanese mythological character Raijin, the god of lightning, thunder, and storms in the Shinto religion and in Japanese mythology. His name is derived from the Japanese words rai (thunder) and “god” or “kami” (shin). He is typically depicted as a demon-looking spirit beating drums to create thunder, usually with the symbol tomoe drawn on the drums. The original grey and black oriental flowing patterned artwork created by the artist to give a complete look at the sleeve shape.

Happiness comes to us in a different way. Sometimes we cannot imagine or speculate where what amount of happiness is saved for us. Life takes us on a ride of surprises which ends up immense pleasure or happiness. Our cautious mind always keeps us alert from receiving good thing but we over alertness keeps us away from getting more good things.

Such things happen with Mausumi, one of our very special client/ friend. When she requested for a small tattoo from our artist, she never knew that what surprises await her at the end. As he starts from a minimum size he designed it on his own way she surprised for the first time, she has a fair complexion so when the artist put a full colored ornamental design on her it was full of surprise for her. Luckily she also planned the international Nepal convention trip just a day after the tattoo and this piece were showcased so guess what? This tattoo won the best small color tattoo in the convention. Happy Mousumi happy us… that’s the reward to us.

Gigantic Cover-up Tattoo

Gigantic cover up tattoo at lizard's skin tattoo studio

Life is full of surprises. We never know when something bad turn to good or vice versa. We all do mistakes in our life, we fall in love at a younger age and just go with the flow, and sometimes we start dreaming of something so deeply that we forgot the consequences. We love to think that relationships are forever. But with time every situation changes and we started realizing the mistakes. At the end, the mistakes keep us dementing and we keep on feeling sad about our mistakes. But in reality, a tattoo is forever only.

We always demotivate our clients of not getting names of their loved ones unless and until we believe its permanent, well nothing is permanent apart from tattoos. But jokes apart sometimes the cover-up becomes really a hard job and always doesn’t be the successful procedure like this case was a difficult but successful, keep in mind you always should think before you get inked.  Thanks for looking. Cross with Wings Tattoo by Niloy Das

Cross with Wings Tattoo by Niloy Das

A tattoo is a permanent imprint on our body. So when we try to portray our nature to the world nothing can be better as a silent representation. As they say, swimming against the current needs big strength especially when someone has to go a long way to establish their belief with confidence and also who stand against all those who contradict the idea it needs great courage for them. There aren’t many things which symbolize the nature of such person righteously. More of it when sometimes religion makes a person suffocative with different harshness people need to come out of it.

To breathe, to feel free religiously. This Cross with wings generally symbolizes statement of religious freedom, this is a choice of tattoo for the people who have really strong personalities that fight for their beliefs and have the power to stand against those who contradict them, one must have great confidence in them to showcase the tattoo as to many people this might stand out to be a sin.

She came up with the idea and completely trusted the artist for the tattoo, this is how an original custom piece looks like, done with Cheyenne Professional Tattoo Equipment, Inkbooster by DC Invention Company GmbH and definitely Squidster skin markers.
